Heliskiing Greenland

Heliskiing in Greenland belongs still to the most ‚exotic’ adventures among connoisseurs of the scene. The best locations are located close to the polar circle. There the westerly and easterly coastal ranges reach up to 7000 feet, at the border of the immense inner ice shelf of Greenland.

The skiing terrain is characterized by wide variety. Descents up to 7000 feet from steep mountain peaks down to the ocean shore can be found quite easily. Steep mountain slopes are followed by rather mellow glacier descents, with just another surprising terrain fall around the corner. There are no trees in the ski areas of Greenland. Accordingly,  you can only ski during good weather. The snow conditions vary between powder and corn. The latter are one of the reasons, why enthusiastic steep slope skiers travel to Greenland late spring. Only then the extreme chutes of the coastal mountain ranges can be skied safely.

Evening skiing after a passing snow front is one of the most fantastic Heliskiing experiences you can enjoy in Greenland.

Down day activities include attractive fishing and whale watching adventures.
